Low-Power ECDSA SECP160R1 IP MODULE

The IAIK SECP160R1 IP module implements an elliptic-curve coprocessor that offers digitally signing of data according to ECDSA SECP160R1. The module is well suited for resource-constrained devices such as contactless smart cards or RFID devices. It needs no interaction by a host processor to generate an elliptic-curve digital signature (ECDSA). The implementation is based on the recommended GFP160 Standards for Efficient Cryptography Group (SECG) elliptic curve SECP160r1.

Features:
  • Full ASIC designed processor
  • ECDSA signature generation (no verification supported)
  • Optimized for low area and low power
  • AMBA Advanced Peripheral Bus (APB) as interconnection to other modules
  • Latch based 90x16-bit dual-port RAM
  • 16x16-bit multiply-accumulate unit
  • 18.315GEs
  • 510.831 clock cycles to generate a ECDSA digital signature
  • 1108µW@1MHz (VDD=3.3V)
  • ƒmax up to 70MHz
Applications:
  • RFID or smartcard authentication
  • Applications which require asymmetric cryptography
  • Standalone ECC unit
Deliverables:
  • VHDL, tcl-testbench (Modelsim, Cadence), scripts for synthesis & simulation
